Clinical Diagnostic Test
Advanced urinary testing panel powered by our patent-pending Microbial-Derived Metabolite (MDM™) technology for early detection and screening of autism in children ages 2 and older.
A simple, streamlined journey from your home to our CLIA-certified lab and back with actionable results.
Purchase the MDM™ test kit online. Your kit ships to your home with everything needed for sample collection.
Collect a simple urine sample using included materials. Return with the provided shipping materials.
Our CLIA-certified lab performs advanced metabolomic profiling using the proprietary MDM™ system.
Receive a detailed, actionable report within 7–10 business days. Delivered to caregivers and clinicians.
The MDM™ system goes beyond risk screening. By profiling microbial-derived metabolites in urine, it identifies biological imbalances that may contribute to autism symptoms — delivering not just a score, but a foundation for targeted intervention.
Zero false positives. When the MDM™ test returns a positive result, it means something. This level of specificity sets a critical standard for families seeking real answers.
Our metabolomics approach detects unique microbial and metabolic markers commonly elevated in children with autism, delivering clarity that outperforms current alternatives.
No blood draws. No sedation. No stress. A simple urine collection at home is all it takes. Designed for children with sensory sensitivities and behavioral challenges.
Most available tests stop at risk detection and offer no direction for next steps. The MDM™ report reveals underlying biological imbalances, including gut microbial disruptions linked to ASD symptoms, alongside actionable suggestions that support personalized treatment decisions with your clinician.
Whether you're a parent seeking answers, a clinician seeking objective data, or a clinic seeking better tools — the MDM™ panel is designed for you.
Parents seeking clarity and early answers for their child's development. If your child is age 2 or older and you have concerns, the MDM™ test provides objective, science-based insight without invasive procedures.
Clinicians looking for specialized laboratory support to complement behavioral assessments. The MDM™ report provides biological data to inform clinical decisions and support earlier, more targeted referrals.
Practices integrating biomedical testing into evaluation workflows. The MDM™ panel adds a metabolomic dimension to your diagnostic toolkit with root-cause insight into gut-brain axis disruptions.
The MDM™ system is the product of extensive research into the gut-brain axis and its role in autism, led by a team with deep expertise in autism science, precision diagnostics, and microbiome research.
All testing performed in certified facilities in Arizona and Connecticut.
The MDM™ system is proprietary and patent pending.
Published autism researchers with decades of peer-reviewed work.
Phoenix, AZ and Farmington, CT for capacity and reliability.
The MDM™ Gut & The Brain Health Panel is designed for children ages 2 and older. There is currently no specified upper age limit. The test is most valuable during early developmental years when intervention has the greatest potential impact.
The kit includes all materials needed to collect a urine sample at home. The process is completely non-invasive. No blood draws, no needles, no clinic visits for collection. Detailed, illustrated instructions are included.
Results are delivered within 7 to 10 business days after your sample arrives at our laboratory. Your report is sent to both the caregiver and the ordering clinician.
The report provides a detailed metabolomic profile showing microbial-derived metabolite levels, identification of biological imbalances including gut microbial disruptions, and actionable suggestions to support targeted intervention decisions in collaboration with your clinician.
The test kit can be purchased directly. However, we strongly recommend working with your pediatrician, neurologist, or autism specialist to interpret results and guide next steps.
The MDM™ test is currently a self-pay service. We do not bill insurance directly or submit claims on behalf of customers. Payment is collected at the time of purchase. You may use your receipt to request reimbursement from your insurance plan, Health Savings Account (HSA), or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), if eligible. Coverage and reimbursement are not guaranteed, so we recommend checking with your plan administrator before ordering.
No refunds except in the case of loss of an untested sample by the laboratory.
Unlike general metabolic panels, the MDM™ system is purpose-built for autism detection. It uses a patent-pending panel of microbial-derived metabolites specifically validated for autism-associated patterns, achieving 100% specificity and over 90% precision. General tests were not designed or validated for this purpose.
Many children with autism go undiagnosed for years. The MDM™ Gut & Brain Health panel gives families and clinicians a non-invasive, science-based path to earlier answers — when it matters most.
Order Test KitImportant Information: The MDM™ Gut & Brain Health panel is a laboratory-developed test (LDT) performed in CLIA-certified laboratories. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This test is not intended as a standalone diagnostic device. Results should be interpreted by a qualified healthcare provider in conjunction with clinical observations, patient history, and other relevant information. The MDM™ test does not replace a comprehensive clinical evaluation for autism spectrum disorder. It is designed to provide additional metabolomic data to support the diagnostic and treatment process. Not currently covered by insurance. No refunds except in the case of loss of an untested sample by the laboratory.
